15 Fun Facts About Dr. Milnor

Here at Milnor Orthodontics, we want you to have the most relaxed and enjoyable experience each and every time you come in for an appointment. One way we try to make your experience the best it can be is by giving you ways to get to know our hard-working team a little better! What better way to do so than to share some some fun facts about them that you can chat about during your visit?

Here we’re highlighting our one and only – Dr. Laura Milnor!

  1. What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?

Where do I start? I’m addicted to inspirational, empowering, self-development type books.

I am a total dog and animal nerd, and will go above and beyond for my fur babies,  including weekly food prep with organic chicken, special weekly treats, barkbox, coats, pics, grooming etc. I walk them with a special “dog walking fanny pack” so I am equipped and always prepared for any event.

I love having a detailed plan in place. For example, if I’m hosting Thanksgiving, I will have a full menu detailed out with coordinating drinks at least a month ahead, which I will email to guests for their viewing pleasure.

  2. What was your childhood nickname?

    Peanut

  3. What was your favorite TV show when growing up?

My dad was fairly strict, so growing up we didn’t have cable TV or a VCR, so I had limited options for shows. Plus we weren’t really allowed to watch TV until my dad came home. Of course my older brother and I would sneak in some TV time and we had our dedicated perches so we could watch for my dad coming home. I would have to say “Full House” or “Growing Pains” were probably my favorite shows.

  4. Favorite TV commercial?

I don’t really like commercials but Peyton Manning’s commercials are my favorite. He’s a funny guy and I happen to like him as an athlete and person.

  5. What was the last gift you gave someone?

I gave my niece and nephew rocks and crystals from Nature’s Own because they are always wanting to find “crystals” lately.

  6. What is something your patients would be surprised to learn about you?

I was really into research in college and at dental school. I would compete in research competitions where you present your project and I actually won several times, with my most prestigious win being at the American Association of Dental Research national meeting in 2006.

  7. If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

    A music producer

  8. If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?

Do I have to survive? Lighter, machete, water filter.  Just stuff to make me feel good? Husband, dogs, music.

  9. What did you want to be when growing up?

    A veterinarian

  10. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

    Cow tongue

  11. What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Probably a personal trainer, small business owner, or real estate agent

  12. Scary movies, comedies, or romantic movies?

I can’t watch scary movies – they are too scary!! Comedies are my favorite.

  13. Have you ever played an instrument or a sport?

    Piano, swim team, soccer

  14. If you had one free hour each day, how would you spend it?

    Working out or walking dogs

  15. Would you rather be invisible or be able to read minds?

Invisible. It would be way too scary to be able to read people’s minds. Could you imagine??
