Bride with a perfect smile

Brides, It’s Not Too Late to Get the Perfect Smile!

Your wedding day. You may have been dreaming of this day since you were little, often thinking about the perfect dress and the perfect location, not to mention the perfect groom. But what about the perfect smile? You may have been planning to undergo orthodontic treatment for a while now, only to have life get in the way. A career, family, and so many other factors could have affected your ability to begin treatment, and now you fear it’s too late to get a beautiful smile before your big day. Well fear not, brides, it’s not too late!

For Minor Orthodontic Issues

Brides with minor issues, like slight spacing or alignment problems may be able to turn to the Invisalign system to correct their smile. Invisalign Express was designed for minor orthodontic issues and takes just a fraction of the time as opposed to braces or Invisalign Full. Typically, Invisalign Express can correct very minor issues in two to three months, and for slight tooth rotations about six months, which makes this an optimal choice for brides who are pressed for time.

The plus side about the Invisalign system is even if treatment isn’t finished in time for the big day, brides can leave their aligners off for the wedding. They can also opt to have their attachments removed, so nothing stands in the way of their wedding day festivities.

For More Severe Issues

Brides who have more severe issues may need to plan a little bit more in advance. Severe issues include:

  • Bite problems (underbites, overbites, crossbites)
  • Severe crowding
  • Gaps in the teeth

These issues may take longer to correct, and brides who suffer from these issues may not be candidates for Invisalign Express. Invisalign Full is an option that corrects these more severe orthodontic issues, and so are braces.

If your orthodontic issue is more severe, you may want to allot more time before the wedding to start treatment; however, if time is of the essence, speak with your orthodontist about your options. If you have braces, you may be able to have them removed for the big day, but keep in mind, there will most likely be a fee to have them put back on. With Invisalign Full, you can take your aligners out for the day of the wedding, just make sure you take them with you if you go on a honeymoon.

A Perfect Smile for Your Special Day

It’s important to have a game plan when it comes to achieving a perfect smile for your wedding day. Brides, don’t panic. Choosing to begin treatment before your big day is a choice you won’t regret. Speak with your orthodontist and be honest about what you hope to accomplish before your wedding. Let them know what type of treatment plan you’re comfortable with, and together you can design a program that will work for you.

Remember, depending on the severity of your issue, you may be able to correct it within a couple of months, or it may take time. Either way, know you’re one step closer to a perfect smile you can enjoy for the rest of your life.
